Copyright, database rights and use of content

      Latest update:

      Intellectual property rights

All texts, images, illustrations, videos, documents, databases, logos, design and other content on this website are protected by copyright, database rights and/or other intellectual property rights. Insofar as applicable, these rights belong to the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Public Utility Foundation, with registered office at Nationalestraat 155 and registered in the register of legal entities under number 0410.057.701 (ITM), or to third parties from whom ITM has obtained the necessary rights of use.

Use of the content and text and data mining

Except in cases where the law expressly permits it, it is not allowed to copy, reproduce, download, extract, store, index, scrape, process, republish, translate, distribute, reuse or otherwise use the content of this website, in whole or in part, without the prior written consent of ITM.

ITM does not grant permission for the use of the content of this website for text and data mining, nor for training, developing, testing or improving artificial intelligence systems, machine learning models, large language models or other automated systems, or for compiling datasets, embeddings or similar applications, unless ITM has granted prior written permission for this.

ITM expressly makes use of the possibility to reserve its rights with regard to text and data mining in accordance with applicable legislation. Insofar as legally required or permitted, this statement constitutes an explicit reservation of rights with regard to text and data mining and the use of the content of this website for AI-related applications.

      Citation and reuse

Limited citation is permitted insofar as this is done in accordance with applicable statutory exceptions, with clear source attribution and without taking the content out of its context. Proper source attribution includes at least the name "Wanda", the title of the relevant page, the URL and the date of consultation.

Organisations or persons wishing to reuse, reproduce, translate, process or otherwise use content from this website may submit a written request to ITM via communicatie@itg.be. ITM assesses such requests on a case-by-case basis and may attach conditions to them or refuse them.

Nothing on this website may be construed as granting a licence or any other right of use with regard to the content or the underlying databases, unless ITM has expressly confirmed this in writing.

      Enforcement

ITM reserves the right to take all appropriate legal measures against any unauthorised use of the content, including demanding cessation of the infringement, removal of unlawfully obtained reproductions and, where applicable, other legal remedies provided for under Belgian law, including a claim for damages.
