Travel assistance insurance

Medical costs in a foreign country can sometimes be very high. In addition, good medical care is not available everywhere, meaning that an evacuation by aeroplane or helicopter is sometimes required. Therefore, it is important for everyone who is travelling to take out good travel assistance insurance before they leave. 

Read the terms and conditions of your travel insurance in detail.  Travel insurance policies do not cover all the costs. Sometimes complications resulting from existing medical conditions are excluded.

In general, standard travel insurance policies only cover tourist travel and not business travel or other travel for professional purposes, such as conferences, missions or internships.  Additional insurance cover is required for risky activities (mountaineering, diving, ...).
