      Insects can transmit diseases such as leishmaniasis and West Nile virus disease.

      Protect yourself against insects.

      Tick-borne diseases

      Ticks can transmit diseases such as Lyme disease.

      There are sporadic cases of tick-borne encephalitis in Thessaloniki.

      Altitude sickness

      You may experience altitude sickness in areas above 2500 metres.
